WoHealth

WoHealth − Empowering immigrant women in supporting their and their families' health and wellbeing is a project financed by the European Union through the Central Baltic 2014-2020 Programme.

Central Baltic 2014-2020 Programme finances result orientated cross-border cooperation projects in Estonia, Finland (incl. Åland), Latvia and Sweden.

WoHealth is a joint cooperation venture of: Turku University of Applied Sciences, Finland and Region Östergötland, Refugee Health Centre, Sweden.

The project aims at empowerment of women in their knowledge and skills in health and wellbeing issues, by means of education and peer support, in Finland and in Sweden.

To reach this goal, the project organises workshops / study groups, creates and tests a training program for peer supporters and develops easy-access, easy-to-read material in relevant topics. The material will also improve collaboration between immigrant clients and health care professionals e.g. in children and maternity clinics.
